Advertisement in movies, television shows and even sports- Covert Advertisement

Hello to all you lovely people.

Well i m sure all of you might be love watching movies, television shows and sport match....i too love them so,Today finally, while watching few movies and some television shows, I notice various familiar brands such as mountain dew,McD,Nokia,Levi,TIME coaching class, KentRO on cricket talk show.... and i got one topic to share with you.

Which is known as Covert advertising?

It’s really a unique way of getting attention of your target audience easily because they are available at the right place and engage in that activity of watching the movie, or their favorite   television show, or their favorite match between two teams.

This kind of advertising is proved to be impactful in case of liking of that particular movie, television shows and even sport match. At the same there are some negative results also if an advertiser have used particular movie to advertise the brand or product and if that movie went flop then because of less visibility that activity will also fail, some time because of  perception of consumer they find wrong association  between a particular brand and a television show because they failed to associate them self with that advertisement.

For example- Assume that you are a 20 year old college going student and your favourate channel include MTv, Vh1,channel V  Etc...  if advertisement related to institute and various thing such latest technology might interest you but advertisement related to financial services might not.

Please refers to below link related to Covert advertising.

  1. It is something like Fusion marketing, which is based on the "I'll scratch your back if you scratch my back." idea. Fusion marketing used to be called "Tie-Ins with others"or Collaborative Marketing"or "Co-Marketing."

There is lot of Fusion marketing going on in America. In India it has been lately started in few movies. You see a commercial you think is for McDonald's, but midway through you think it's for Coca-cola, and by the time it's over, you realize it was really for the latest movie.

  2. Mr Parekh, fusion marketing is combining everything-its banners, broadcasts, event marketing, etc. -- into an integrated package and combining that with online marketing activities.

But when you use entertainment medium to expose your target audience to visual advertisement then it's Covert Advertisement.
